Lorenzo Juara MotoGP Valencia

Itik Holic - Akhirnya Jorge Lorenzo pembalap team Fiat Yamaha berhasil menjuarai MotoGP 2010 Valencia tahun ini. Dengan kemenangannya ini berarti Lorenzo berhasil menyempurnakan gelar juara dunia MotoGP yang sebenarnya telah jatuh ke tangannya sewaktu MotoGP Sepang, Malaysia lalu.

Jorge Lorenzo yang awalnya hanya berada dalam urutan ke lima bahkan sempat tersenggol dengan motor pembalap asal Italia Simoncelli. Akibatnya Lorenzo hingga hampir kehilangan keseimbangan. Namun untunglah, akhirnya ia berhasil mempercepat laju motornya hingga berada dalam posisi ketiga setelah berhasil melewati pembalap dari Team Repsol Honda, Daniel Pedrosa pada lap 10.

Kejar mengejar antara Lorenzo dan Valentino Rossi pun tak terelakkan, hingga akhirnya Lorenzo berhasil melewati pembalap yang berjuluk sebagai The Doctor itu.

Lorenzopun akhirnua terpacu untuk mengejar posisi juara dengan mengejar motor pembalap Ducati, Casey Stoner. Di Lap ke 24 akhirnya Lorenzo berhasil melampaui posisi Stoner dan menjadi juara MotoGP Valencia 2010.

Dengan demikian, Lorenzo berhasil mematahkan rekor Valentino Rossi. Pembalap Fiat Yamaha itu kini juga tercatat sebagai pembalap yang meraih poin terbanyak dalam semusim. Tambahan poin penuh di Valencia membuatnya mengoleksi 383 poin. Angka tersebut melampaui rekor yang semula diciptakan Rossi pada 2008, yakni 373 poin.

Baik Lorenzo musim ini maupun Rossi pada 2008, sama-sama memenangkan sembilan seri balapan.

Patut dicatat, meski Valentino Rossi tidak menjadi juara namun ia layak mendapat acungan jempol, karena meski performa motornya tidak setangguh Lorenzo tetapi ia berhasil bersaing dan naik podium dengan posisi finish ke 3.

Dengan tersenyum Rossi melambai mengenakan baju berwarna kuning bertuliskan Bye Bye Baby yang menandakan perpisahannya dengan Team Fiat Yamaha di MotoGP 2010 karena dalam musim balapan MotoGP tahun depan ia akan hengkang dan bergabung dengan Team Ducati.

South Korea loss to Uruguay 1-2, but Fans still Proud
